CAMPING!!

This is actually today (My Birthday!) after a swim in the pool :)

Cole and I last weekend at Bull Shoals
We spent last weekend camping for Tim's Birthday and Father's Day. We relaxed, we swam and played and we ate like crazy. It was wonderful! And yes, in this pic Cole is wearing a Big Dog shirt that says, "I'm The Big Dog Daddy" on the back. What a sport!:)

Nathan "babysitting" Chase
Today is my 26th birthday. I woke up in a state of terror, shocked by the shear horror of being in my LATE 20s. I'm better now though. (Cole is singing a song he wrote titled, "Stromboli." It's about salad dressing and saran wrap... i'm laughing so hard I cannot concentrate, ok) All of the birthday wishes made me smile and when Cole came home with cards and gifts and loaded us in the car to go pick out golf clubs I was SO happy! My goal is to learn a little about the game and be able to impress him with my natural golf skills...my first lesson is next Wednesday so look out!

Pops just HAD to see Chasie in his bee hat, Chase was happy to oblige.

"Dad, love your chihuahua and your Nancy Pants!"

It was a sad day today. As 'ol Pops D. was boarding a flight for Alaska I was preparing for my first day back to work. :( It was tough leaving Fat Toady behind and I missed him ALL day but AT LEAST the first time is over and we both made it through unharmed so hopefully it will be easier next time.

Oh yeah! Yesterday was Mother's Day!! It was wonderful! All I wanted to do was hold Chase all day and eat junk food... and that's exactly what we did (most of the day) :) I'm looking forward to my wedding Anniversary this weekend, nothing major planned but maybe Cole will surprise me (now I have to make sure he reads this). I'll let you know if there happens to be anything to tell...

I'm back!

Have you ever seen anything more adorable than this?
If there are really people out there reading this blog than I'm sure you are anxious for some new material... So... here's an update: Chase is doing GREAT, he went in for a Dr. checkup last week and we were not surprised to learn that he already weighs 14lbs and is 23 1/4'' long. A big beautiful boy! All day i'm seeing smiles and listening to the sweet sounds of baby talk and there is no better feeling than rocking a baby to sleep.
Now I know that Chase is a great name, Cole and I both love it, but it just seems like we call him everything but. Here area few of the many outrageous things we call our son: "Looney Tuney," "Boobadooba," "Mr. Peebody," "Fat Toad," and oh, I could go on but dinner is almost ready and sorry, and it's my fav (pizza):)

Easter Weekend!

Grandpa T-Bone trying to controll the wild beast, no, not really, he's only yawning.

The one and only time he'll wear his jacket, hey Rooster!

Mommy & Chase

Our family had a beautiful weekend. The Daddy went fishing on Saturday and came home happy and smelly, two signs of success. The weather was gorgeous so the Mommy went to her parents and set up shop around a lounger in the sun, perfect. Between Grandma, the dogs, the birds, and every other sound on the farm the Baby was stimulated and in great spirits. Victory

On Easter Sunday I attempted a dinner party. My Mom and Dad, Tim and Ellen, Z and Grammy came over and I won't say it went off without a hitch but it WAS fun. We're so lucky to have so much family just a phone call away (and willing to let me practice my hostess skills on, scary)! The Easter Bunnies brought Chase rattles, and toys and Grandma Ellen even found a pair of "big boy" swim trunks... I think we're all ready for summer!!!

Another Trip for Chase

Had to throw this one in! I doubt it surprises anyone.

Annie and I, baby swapping!

Our first major family outing was Thursday. We went to Springfield, I know you're thinking, that's major? Well it IS. 3 plus hours spent driving, lunch out, and then the ladies of Town & County. It's a long day for anyone, especially when you have to get your diaper changed. I got to show the Little Man off to all my "other Mothers" as they used to call themselves. This was fun because Chase and I both got to hear how adorable we were. Annie came and brought Jack her 41/2 month old son who is as sweet as can be, he looks just like a tiny man. We ate cookies and I tried on clothes (of course) all the while forgetting that Cole was roaming the isles of Bass Pro Shop...scary. It was a great day and Chase was wondreful allthough he was a little hung over the next day.

uhh, glao, eaah, errreerrre (Chase speaking)

Yesterday we took the baby on his longest cross-state adventure. Where were we? Don't ask. When the Jeep navigation screen couldn't even register our location I just figured we were in the "Middle of Nowhere." But it really wasn't a bad place to be. Turns out, Chase's Great Aunt Lisa and Uncle Jeff live there. We spent the afternoon visiting with Grandparents and chowing down bean-dip, delicious.

Today we have a very big day. Oh, I have to mention this for anyone who might care. I have a genius baby. So, anyway, today we'll work on: Stick out tongue when I stick out mine (Adorable). Roll over. Kick. Laugh. Busy boy. And then when we get done with ALL of that we'll make some Grandparents very happy.

Well, we better get started...Chase is laying on the couch staring at the dog's face smiling!

Thought you might like to see a picture of Z, so pretty!

A Blizzard?!

Chase and I are watching the weather and we can't get our heads around... "6 inches!" I know they're only predicting 3" for us but come on, doesn't Mother Nature know my parents have A LOT of plants and trees that don't want to get their bark frozen off? I don't mind though, it's just an excuse to drink Hot Chocolate and eat warm Chocolate Chip Cookies for breakfast.

Let's see, Chase is squirming' like crazy. He can actually get himself (awkwardly) from point A to point B (a couple of inches) by doing this strange kick, scoot, kick, twist combo. I'm not sure but I think he'll be wild. So, I don't want to get too excited, but... he's been sleeping MOST of the night! When I get a whole week of this then I'll be comfortable admitting, "he's a good sleeper!"

Yesterday I brought Cole lunch, they're working in Camdenton about 5 minutes from the Smith Homestead so I ventured over for my weekly tour of Greensmith Farms. The Hills are alive with the sound, or smell rather of Spring... I love this time of year and I'm getting so excited for SUMMER! Chase is going to love to swim I already know, he's great at bath time.

Well I better get bath time going because Pops D is on his way over to do a little bebesitting while I... GO TANNING!!! For the first time in pretty much a year. I still can't believe it. Also I have to go to the grocery store so that kind of takes the flare out of my quiet, warm, soothing tan time. haha, keep warm everybody!

AMERICAN IDOL

Tuesdays are probably Cole's fav night of the week because, of course, it's American Idol performance night. Yeah right, but he is a trooper and I love hearing him say things like, "His jeans are a little too baggy." or "SHUT UP Paula!," or "Boooooo!!"ir "She makes my head hurt, I don't like her anymore." Haha, I don't care what he says, this IS the greatest show in the world.

Today, Z and I went for a pedicure, it was lovely except the small Vietnamese boy kept telling her she was sexy which was weird. I told her he would probably date her and that it would make Dad really happy because he loves learning about Asian culture, we'll see. Chase did a lot of smiling, every day he's doing more to amaze me.

Tonight, we had leftovers for dinner, a few Resses and that was about it. I'll spare everyone the little details.

Rainy Day

Daddy & his "helper"

Mommy & Chase

Top 5 reasons why I'm the mostunpopular person in the household:
1. I'm making Cole watch ANOTHER "House" rerun.
2. I bought 2lbs. of cookie dough (I'm still trying to convince Cole that that was a good idea).
3. It's 76 degrees in the house and I'm trying to talk Cole OUT of opening a window.
4. Cole thinks he smells dog pee :(
5. I get to feed the baby

...6. The pillow has a hole in it, hahahaha (Cole made me add that one).

Chase is snoring right now and I don't think I've ever heard a sweeter sound. Z came over and spent the afternoon with me. It was a wonderful rainy day and it felt great to spend it inside with my sister, who changed her first dirty diaper. Not her own, of course.

p.s. I realize I live in a household of 3, ha.

First Time Blog...

...and here we go! For all our Friends and Family; our little family would love to share news, pictures and everything in between with you via our blog. Visit anytime and we (really just me, Meagan) will try to have new updates or atleast something interesting to share with you. Like this for example...

...Today, already i've killed a giant bug (still on the floor for Cole to see) and taken a shower. It all only took 2 hours! I've definitely realized that even the smallest tasks need an additional 30 minutes to complete. Little Buddy is taking is mid-morning nap, he looks so cute! Last week at the Dr.'s office Chase topped the scale at 11lbs. 11oz. and 22inches. Everyone tells you they grow so fast but I can't believe it, every day he out grows an outfit!

Being a Mommy and taking care of Chase is such a joy, he makes every moment of the day special and I couldn't have been blessed with a better baby! Cole and I are VERY proud parents and are sooooo happy we could burst. That's a wrap!
